Panel Topic: Interreligious Dialogue
Religion and Identity
Authors: Zohar Maor, David W. Kim, Roee Horen
Identity is a key concept in analyzing social and individual behavior, past and present. It is often associated with modern settings, in which the multiplicity of affiliations and relationship generates a pressing need for decision and focus. Yet the concept of identity is highly useful for the analysis of earlier periods. This proposed panel, organized by INIRE, will explore the religious identities of all periods and Abrahamic religions. The panel will focus on how religions shape or affect identities, in both individual and collective realms. Chair: Zohar Maor (Bar Ilan University) Speakers:David W.
