Authors: Ivon Cepeda-Mayorga, Gabriela Palavicini, Gabriela Ayala-Núñez, Javier Camargo-Castillo, Adriana Cantón

The post-pandemic scenery in contemporary societies stresses the relevance of reflecting on the role of spirituality and its relationship with the social transformation that looks to develop and reinforce a healthy community, reducing social problems and inequalities while embracing humanity and its connection with other sentient and non-sentient beings. In this sense, this panel, Gabriela Palavicini and Adriana Cantón propose a reflection from questioning the socioeconomic and technological perspectives that dominate contemporary societies, suggesting reconsidering these perspectives under other forms of understanding the human being and the idea of development from a perspective of spirituality and health. In addition, Gabriela Ayala-Núñez suggests rethinking the use of data and technology to amplify the knowledge of the poor and the marginalized to consider different modes of shaping our societies. Besides this, Javier Camargo-Castillo offers a reflection on the role of imagination coming from the writings of the Chicana writer Gloria Anzaldua, which contributes to the possibility of thinking about social transformation from other forms of spiritual worlds and perspectives. Finally, Ivón Cepeda-Mayorga reflects on the relationship between care and spirituality to endorse the sense of fragility needed to promote a social understanding of welfare and solidarity with Others.
