The grammar and vocabulary of a given language have a significant role to play in how they express theological and religious ideas. Translation of sacred texts from one language to another, which operates on a different set of principles and presuppositions, likewise pose challenges in how these ideas are formulated and expressed. This panel will host papers exploring the peculiarities of given languages with respect to expressing religious thought, the role of translation, and the history of theological thought in given languages, as well as related topics.
