Issues in Contemporary Catholicism in Britain

Authors: Mátyás Bódi, Christopher Fallon, Tariqul Islam, Peter McGrail

The past half-century has witnessed an accelerating decline in the fortunes of the Roman Catholic Community in these islands. The numbers of active clergy and of engaged laity have fallen steeply. This panel invites papers that investigate the Church’s current position and responses within it to the challenges it now faces—be they structural, theological, ministerial, or educational.Chair: Peter McGrail (Liverpool Hope University)Speakers:Christopher A.
