I am delighted to welcome you to the 2023 conference of the European Academy of Religion on behalf of Australian Catholic University.

ACU, through its Institute for Religion and Critical Inquiry, is honoured and pleased to join with the University of St Andrews and the St Andrews Encyclopaedia of Theology in hosting this weeklong gathering that provides an opportunity for scholars across different religious traditions and related fields of study to explore key issues inside and outside their traditions.

ACU Faculty and Institute researchers are excited to be presenting the results of some of their research at the conference, and I hope their and your participation will provide the opportunity to establish new connections and to enrich existing ones.

I am sure there will be lively and engaging discussions and deliberations as you explore issues which not only create new knowledge but also have the potential to benefit belief, civil society, and our fragile world.
